Everything in this world seems to have an ulterior motive,
Lord I just wanna give my kids the best.
Is that too much to ask,
I'm just getting older.
I have a beautiful son and a beautiful daughter,
The longer their away, the more it get's harder.

I had an ambition,
buyin' a property, had a job and a life
I felt like it was robbed from me.
I went back, wanted things to work.
I even tried college,
Shit still hit the dirt.

I know i'm not perfect and I ought not to be.
The mistakes I've made,
I know their a part of me.
I don't understand what I should do,
I lock myself in my head,
Tryin' to pick up some kind of clue.
I feel like i'm fading away
But i'm still chasing after you.

I just want my kids to know,
They can be what they want to be.
Never give up,
Faith's all we have left in this economy.

I question my own self,
Realizing true wealth,
I'ts love,
Love in everything else.
I truly love you,
hope you can see,
The dumb things I do, I'ts not what makes me.
I forgive you,
I hope you forgive me!
